STATE OF MIND AFFAIRS(MENTAL HEALTH).

Hello lovely people, happy new month, yaaaaaay.


Hope you've been staying safe and sane. A lot is happening at the moment hence the need for you to put your mental well being a priority.

Mental Health is the way you feel about yourself and others as well as your ability to manage your feelings and deal with everyday difficulties.


When you take care of your mental health these changes pay off; It boosts your mood, builds resilience and adds to your overall enjoyment of life.


Below are ways I have found to be helpful in my Mental Health Journey:

1.POSITIVITY

How you think about yourself has a powerful effect on how you feel. Your thoughts run your life. When you think positively you get positive results and vice versa.


2.START A GRATITUDE JOURNAL

Gratitude equals happiness which in turn equals success. Write a daily gratitude list, think of all the good things that have happened in your life and start being thankful for it all. The aim/goal is to focus on the good. Practice it and see your life change for the better.


3.SELFCARE

This is a wide category but I'll try to sum it up below:

  • pamper yourself like go make your hair, nail appointments, spa dates, do something that makes you feel good.

  • play dress-up and upload the videos on you IG /VLOG.

  • eat a balanced diet it boosts your brain activity.

  • exercise: small home work outs, taking long works, jogging etc.

  • music therapy(my favorite), music is known to be a stress reliever.


4.FIND HELP

Open up to someone be it a friend or professional help. Knowing you are valued by others is important for helping you think more positively . Remember also, a problem shared is half solved.


5.HELP OTHERS

Do something for someone , it draws you away from your thoughts. It even makes you feel good about yourself. Being helpful and kind is a way to boost your self esteem.

6.RELAX/MEDITATE/PRAY

Take a break from everything. Find some alone time for yourself and meditate, practice yoga(calms your nerves) and PRAY. Talk to GOD. He hears every faithful prayer.


7.TAKE ONE DAY AT A TIME

When your mind wonders, just bring it back to what you are doing. Be mindful of the present moment. Live a day at a time.


8. GO TO BED EARLY

Have at least 8 hrs of sleep. Sleep deprived people have a lot of mood swings and lack concentration. Listen to you body always, go to bed early. Set a routine.
